The Enchanted Forest
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, in the most beautiful enchanted forest lived hundreds of different animals. There were deer, chipmunks, racoons, beavers, squirrels, owls that all spent their days frolicking in the meadows. The birds flew overhead, while the animals worked together to do their daily chores to keep harmony in the enchanted forest.
The beavers patrolled the water to ensure the “Trojan Spies” didn’t cross the river, the birds flew in the cloud hunting for “Cryptolockers”, and every morning the squirrels circled the parameter of the forest to ensure the “Storm Worms” didn’t find a way to enter their precious forest.
It was an amazing forest where everyone lived happily for the most part but they all lived in fear of the Old Warlock on the top of the hill – “Old Man Heartblead”. Although they tried to avoid him, they knew that at any point he could wreak havoc throughout the forest.
One day the old Warlock was particularly cranky with a huge headache from the party he threw himself after his “Blackshade” soldiers conquered a neighboring forest. It seems that the birds were tweeting just a little too loud for his liking that day so he turned his attention to the enchanted forest and began his plan to upset the harmony of the land. With the party still going on from last night, the old Warlock made his way down the hill with an invitation to all of the squirrels to attend his grand buffet.
Now being squirrels they weren’t particularly cleaver. When the old Warlock mentioned the buffet had Hazelnut Torte they couldn’t resist his offer and quickly accepted the invitation. So they followed the old Warlock back up the hill… while they were climbing the hill some of them started to question whether this was a smart move but the opportunity to have some Hazelnut Torte was too tempting.
When they got to the top of the hill of they realized that there was no torte and they found themselves trapped!
Meanwhile down in the enchanted forest, the head racoon was the first to notice that the squirrels were gone. He ran as fast as he could to Rabbit. “The squirrels are gone! GONE”, he shrieked.
“Oh dear”, said Rabbit. “I bet this is the old Warlock up to no good. Quick; we have to tell the others! We MUST do something!”
The racoon headed down to the water to spread the word and the rabbit hopped over to the meadow and found a family of deer. “It seems the Warlock has taken all of the squirrels!” he explained. “We must do something fast! We have to get the word out that they are in trouble.”
The deer ran off in all directions to let the other animals know what had happened. Within a day, they had spread the word; one by one they spoke to each animal and the forest was “a buzz” with the news.
Since it had taken so long to spread the word, the situation was becoming urgent. For without the squirrels, the “Storm Worms” were free to roam around the enchanted forest and they were starting to destroy the beautiful landscape.
Upon hearing the news, Owl realized that he and the other birds needed to get a message to the princess. She might actually be able to help! He enlisted the help of Magpie, who could fly longer and faster than anyone in the land. “Magpie, fly off and tell “Princess Kaspersky” what has happened to our squirrels.”
Magpie took to the skies immediately. As she flew, she could hear the tweets of the other birds “#BRING BACK OUR SQUIRRELS”.
It took Magpie an entire day to reach the Princess’ castle. By now, days and days had passed and the “Storm Worms” were slowly taking over the forest.
“Princess Kaspersky?” “Call me Kassie”, she replied, as she stepped out on to the balcony. “We need your help! Old Warlock has our squirrels and the “Storm Worms” are wreaking havoc across our beautiful forest. We need to bring back our squirrels”, gasped Magpie.
“Of course I will help” the Princess said. “But so much time has passed. We will have to take some drastic measures.” With this declaration, she raced up the north tower to retrieve her box of magic potion. She needed to restore the forest back to a point in time before the old Warlock took the squirrels but she couldn’t harm the inhabitants of the forest while she did this. This was going to be tricky.
She found her jar of “Bitdefender” dust and then gave Magpie specific instructions on how to save the forest and bring back the squirrels. If this worked, when everyone woke up the next morning things would be restored to before the Warlock had taken the squirrels.
With these instructions, Magpie flew as fast as she could; making sure that she sprinkled just enough of the “Bitdefender” dust to cover the entire forest. Then she waited until morning to see what would happen when the forest came out of hibernation.
After the first light peaked over the horizon, she saw them – the squirrels – they were back!!! Now she didn’t have a moment to spare as she had to get the letter from “Princess Kassie” to them before they went out to the perimeter of the forest.
When she got to the squirrels they were surprised to see her, especially so early in the morning. “What are you doing here Magpie?” they asked. “I have an important letter from Princess Kassie that you all must read immediately” Magpie panted.
The squirrels stopped to read the letter and let out a huge gasp when they realized the danger they had put the forest in by going with the Warlock for Hazelnut Torte. They swore to stay away from the Warlock and not accept any invitations no matter how tempting the offer was…not even an offer from a Nigerian Prince.
Then like clock-work the rest of the animals and birds woke up from their hibernation and went off to work and enjoy the wonderful day. When the birds got wind of what had happened they tweeted the story for all to hear. They all came together that evening to celebrate their beautiful enchanted forest and the fact that the old Warlock’s plans were foiled again!
The animals and birds lived happily ever after!
